University of the Punjab is the oldest and largest public sector general university of Pakistan. The university was established in 1882 by the British Govt. The university is considered as the highest quality in general level higher education in Pakistan. Punjab University has the mandate to take exams from bachelor to PhD level. Main campus of PU is in Lahore. Many colleges and higher education institutes are affiliated with PU for bachelor to PhD levels. Thousands of students are also studying in different campuses of PU. Every year thousands of regular and private students participate in the exams conducted by PU. The exams of BA/ BSC, MA/ MSC, MPhil/ MS and PhD are held according to a regular schedule every year.
Few months after the exams, the results of different classes are announced by Punjab University. Soon after the result declaration, the results are uploaded at the official site of PU from where the students can view their detailed results through their roll numbers. The students can also receive their result cards just few days after the results. The result cards of regular students are mailed to their respective educational institute while the result cards of private candidates are sent to their mentioned addresses. Written and practical papers of students of science group are held separately but the whole result is issued for these students. The teachers of PU stats checking the papers soon after the completion of exams but the large number of students make it difficult to announce the result earlier.
